the moment when A_NIMA was born: our first meeting with Adriano Aprà
what it means. a paradox, an oxymoron. but maybe, every movie is an oxymoron in itself. a contradiction, an illusion, and we are in searching for this paradox.
instead of asking ourselves what is cinema, we ask why we do cinema: no matters the definition but rather the meaning of our actions.
we deeply discussed all these questions with a good friend of A_NIMA, Adriano Aprà (1940-2024). during our first meeting, Aprà said to us: a filmmaker must always experiment with new languages thinking about the audience, like an underground/overground dream.
we immediately realized we had to create our own production company.
